Colac is situated midway
between Geelong and Warrnambool, on the princes
highway, 150km south-west of Melbourne. The town is
situated between the Otway ranges and a
plain of volcanic cones and craters.
There are over 50 lakes in the region,
which is home to a large variety of water
bird life.
