Learn website design for tourism
.travel
Only authentic travel
and tourism entities are permitted to hold a .travel
Internet domain name, which gives consumers a simple way
of seeing if a travel service suppliers is legitimate.
An
additional benefit is the opportunity to be
listed in the International Travel Directory
reserved for .travel websites. However, there may be
numerous indirect benfits, since search
engine queries can be narrowed to include only
.travel websites in their search results.
The application costs
USD $230. You will need to apply for name
authentication through one of the travel
industry bodies listed below (membership is not required,
apparently). The main criterion governing
approval is that the name applied for must be one that
the applicant is actually using in their business in some
form already. Examples are listed below.
If your authentication
application is successful, you can then apply for the
domain name using the application form refered to above. If you quote
my referal id number "6605",
you will be able to claim a 10% discount
(although, you may have to speak personally to Martin
Chacko on +613 9628 3655).
