Learn website design for tourism

Japanese Translation: When Japanese tourists set their search preferences to their own language, they effectively block all English language websites. Considering that almost 70 000 Japanese visit Australia each and every month, and around 25% plan their holiday on the Internet, a Japanese translation is bound to get a response.

Machine translation software can do the job. However, a professional translator is required to capture the nuances expressed in any text. They may even propose a complete revison of the text to take cultural factors into account.

When the translation is inserted into the web page, paste the following Meta Tags into the <head></head> section of the code, so the search engines know it is in Japanese:

<META HTTP-EQUIV="LANGUAGE" CONTENT="Japanese">
<META HTTP-EQUIV="Content-language" CONTENT="japanese">

Other languages to consider are German, South Korean and Chinese.
